Our Story

Origins

A legacy built on harmony

The Kitty Kats was founded in 2015 by Susanne Campbell, inspired by a vision to bring together outstanding female performers to create a unique vocal trio celebrating harmony, musicianship and the joy of live entertainment. Wanting to collaborate with exceptional women who shared her passion for performance, Susanne invited Renae Suttie to help bring the concept to life, before welcoming Michelle Brown to complete the original line-up.

From the very beginning, The Kitty Kats was built on a shared commitment to excellence. Together, the original trio dedicated themselves to creating unforgettable shows, continually developing their craft, and delivering performances that connected deeply with audiences through humour, heart and world-class vocal harmony.

Their signature blend of swing, blues, cabaret, rockabilly and timeless classics quickly earned them a reputation as one of Queensland’s most loved vocal acts. The Kitty Kats performed countless sold-out shows throughout Queensland, appeared at major festivals, mentored emerging female performers, and proudly supported community and charitable organisations.

Their musical legacy includes two live albums, The Kitty Kats – Live at Brisbane Jazz Club and Swing into Christmas, both available on Spotify, along with their live concert DVD, The Kitty Kats – Live at The Majestic Theatre, capturing one of the trio’s original and much-loved performances in the historic Majestic Theatre, Pomona.

As The Kitty Kats continues into its next chapter, it does so with deep respect for the legacy created by its original members – Susanne Campbell, Renae Suttie and Michelle Brown. Their shared vision, friendship and unwavering commitment to entertaining audiences laid the foundation for a show that continues to evolve while honouring its roots.
